Hi! I’m Kerri!

I’m a follower of Jesus and a mixed media artist. I’ve always had an urge to make stuff since I was a kid, and I’ve have had various creative outlets over the years. I’ve done handmade paper, stained glass, quilting, painting background sets and then finally discovering mixed media, which means I can use ALL the medias—at the same time! <SQUEAL!>

As I started learning different mixed media techniques, I’d finish trying something new and felt that God impressed on me, “Look at this…this is so much like when I do this in your life….” And I’d be like, “WHOA, that is sooo cool!”  Or I’d be in the middle of a process and felt like He’s saying, “Check this out! This is like ______.” And I’d be like, “WHOA, that is sooo cool!”

After going through an incredibly hard, toxic marriage that ended up in divorce, I have now lived–first-hand–that the creative art process parallels our journey through this life. It’s crazy to be able to see the metaphor unfold every time I work on a new piece. All those pretty, boring, ugly, messy layers represent the seasons in our lives. God uses ALL the different seasons in our lives—the good, the bad and the ugly—to shape us into who he has created us to be for our good and His glory.

It’s especially in the yucky seasons where he can reveal himself to us in new ways and grow our faith, our character, our strength.
